Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the public SAGE Reference Online website handles information. Subscriber access inside a library is governed by your institution's own privacy notices.
This public website
The public pages of SAGE Reference Online are informational. You can read about the collection, browse titles, review the interactive tour and contact the team without creating an account. We do not ask you to register to use these pages.
Information we hold
When you contact us, we keep the details you provide, such as your name, institution, email address and the content of your message, so that we can reply and keep a record of the enquiry. When you use the website, our hosting provider records standard server information, including the pages requested, an approximate location and the browser used, to keep the service secure and reliable.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses only the cookies needed for it to function and for basic, aggregated traffic measurement. We do not use advertising cookies on these public pages.
Usage statistics for subscribers
Usage reporting for subscribing libraries is provided as COUNTER compliant statistics. These figures describe how a collection is used in aggregate and are not intended to identify individual readers. Libraries can read the COUNTER Code of Practice for the standards that apply.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you from an enquiry. SAGE handles personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation and comparable laws, and publishes its commitments in the SAGE privacy policy.
